Ian is responsible for R&D liaison and acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within PTC for the Federal, Aerospace and Defense business.
In his role, he is responsible for ensuring that FA&D customer requirements make their way into the standard solution roadmaps at PTC, and PTC customers can fully leverage the potential of new PTC technologies within the realms of Industry 4.0, Augmented Reality and Smart Connected Operations.
Ian is a former military maintainer who served in the UK RAF, and upon leaving the RAF worked for BAE SYSTEMS as an instructor on Electronic Warfare. Since joining PTC, Ian has become a technology advocate who is focused on improving the operational efficiencies of the people who work in the A&D industry as OEMs, Maintainers or Operators.
One of the early co-authors of the S1000D standard, Ian has been an active AIA member influencing the ASD S-Series standards for the last 15years. Ian works closely with PTC’s government and federal customers, to ensure that their PTC projects run smoothly.
Ian is a proud naturalized US Citizen and lives in Tucson AZ with his wife Shannon Boulton.
