Opening Keynote Presentation: Navigating the Great Resignation in Aviation
Description Over the course of 2021, millions of workers have left their jobs for a variety of reasons. This recent phenomenon, called "The Great Resignation," poses particular challenges to the recovery of the aviation industry in a post-pandemic world. By its very nature, aviation requires significant investments in time and training of workers to maintain necessary safety standards. Losing those workers -- to another job or another industry -- represents a loss of talent and investment that significantly damages companies. Understanding this phenomenon, and what we need to do better as an industry to mitigate its impacts, are critical steps to ensuring our industry's health. Better communication between management and workers at all levels of our companies is key to overcoming the obstacles presented by the "Great Resignation.
